Anonymous asked: Hey Max. I've been listening to the comedy button a lot lately and you seem to mention Bo Burnham a fair bit. I can't tell if you're a fan of his comedy or if you hate him. So, what do you think of him?

I don’t recall mentioning him anytime recently, but I know I’ve made a passing reference to the guy. 

Bo Burnham falls into the category of “things that would be a lot cooler if their fans weren’t so annoying.” Most of the Bo Burnham fans I’ve met have A) told me I look like him B) insisted on showing me several of his YouTube videos because they wanted me to hear one funny line. The guy’s definitely talented, but he seems to appeal primarily to the theatre nerd crowd. The kind of people who think The Princess Bride is way funnier than it is, and can recite all of Strongbad’s emails. 

I also sort of hate guys with acoustic guitars just on principle, since unless they’re Johnny Cash or Antonio Banderas in Desperado, they’re usually total douchebags or total wieners, and when people tell you that you look like a certain celebrity enough, you’ll get sick of hearing it. So I’m not exactly a fan of Bo Burnham, but I don’t hate the guy.
